Dr. Callahan Says:
“Growing up in a family of doctors, I was exposed to the field of medicine at a young age. My summer job in high school and college was working as a clerk in the emergency room in my hometown in Georgia. As an undergraduate, however, I took a different route and decided to pursue a career in advertising. After graduation, I moved to Atlanta and worked as an account executive for several advertising agencies. While I had achieved my goal, I was unsatisfied with how I spent my days. I wasn’t fulfilled.
At the time, my brother was in medical school and I found myself yearning to do the same. So I left advertising behind and quit my job. I spent the next two years working for physician offices while I took pre-med classes at night. I started medical school and never looked back. My time working between college and medical school was extremely valuable, because it allowed me to discover what I really wanted to do with my life. I truly feel that I am doing the work that I was meant to do.”
